Video Producer – Live Stream Operator (YouTube)
The Sawtooth Sockeyes are seeking a Video Producer / Live Stream Operator Intern to help operate and manage our home game broadcasts at Wolfe Field in Caldwell, Idaho.
Position Overview
This role is responsible for running the live game stream production for Sockeyes home games, including operating the streaming computer, software, and basic broadcast workflow to deliver a high-quality YouTube live stream of each game.
We currently use vMix streaming software (no prior experience necessary, but a plus).
Key Responsibilities
- Operate live streaming software (vMix) during games
- Manage game-day stream setup, including camera feed and production computer
- Manually switch camera views using pre-set keyboard shortcuts
- Play commercials between innings using pre-configured shortcuts
- Coordinate with play-by-play commentator to time and execute commercial breaks
- Assist with simple overlay graphics for current batter (few-click workflow)
- Understand basic baseball game flow to anticipate and select the correct live camera angles at appropriate times
- Arrive 45 minutes prior to game time for setup and preparation
- Monitor stream quality (audio, video, and connectivity) throughout games
- Start, maintain, and end YouTube live broadcasts
- Coordinate with on-site staff for basic production needs
- Assist with simple graphics/scoreboard integration if applicable
- Troubleshoot basic technical issues during live events
Schedule & Commitment
- Location: Wolfe Field – Caldwell, Idaho
- Games primarily at 7:05 PM start times
- Season timeframe: Now through end of July
- Ability to work home game schedule (evenings, 3–5 nights per week depending on schedule)
- Each shift is approximately a 4-hour evening commitment per game
- Must be available for most home games during the season
Ideal Candidate
- Interest in sports media, broadcasting, or video production
- Basic familiarity with vMix, OBS, or live streaming software (preferred but not required)
- Comfortable working under live-game time pressure
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Willingness to learn on-site production workflow
- Training for the entire production process will be provided
