Larry Price

Larry Price “L.P.” was an associate scout with the Boston Red Sox from 1995 – 2003. He served in that same capacity with the Atlanta Braves from 2010 – 2021. His 26-year career as an Idaho High School varsity baseball coach and American Legion coach for the Boise Gems has been highlighted by 22 state championshipsLarry was inducted into the Idaho High School Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. Prior to assisting with the Sawtooth Sockeyes, Larry was an assistant coach at Northwest Nazarene University, and also 3 years with the Walla Walla Sweets as an assistant coach, and Interim manager.

With his knowledge and teaching skills, he has assisted approximately 170 young men from his program to play baseball at the collegiate and professional level. He has also been the instructor of Coaching Baseball Methods at Boise State University. Over the past several years, he has spoken nationally from Chicago to Seattle to fellow coaches on practice organization and team and individual drills. He has also produced seven instructional baseball videos though Coaches Choice publication, and during his high school tenure he has received 15 Coach of The Year Awards.

Larry played two years at the NCAA Division I level for the University of Southern California. Two notable teammates were Mark McGwire and Randy Johnson.

Larry is married to Diane Price of Boise, Idaho. They have two sons, Cody and Parker.
